fear.

Every few weeks, we’d like to invite those interested in writing in with a theme.

It could be because it’s Spooky Season, or there’s a crisp in the air that sends a chill down your spine, but things right now feel a little scary. We all have a fear of something. Fear of failing, faulting, committing, over-committing, filling in, or even filling out. A lot feels uncertain, and unknown, which, in turn, feels scary.

This Valley is full of frightening things: wildlife, tourists (not all of them), lack of housing, change in weather, and extreme competition.

We want to hear about a time when you felt fear.

Was it applying for your first job? Telling your best friend the honest truth? Climbing the Grand? Dropping your kid off at school for the first time? Admitting you were wrong?

It’s ok to experience fear. As Nelson Mandela once said, “The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”
